DID YOU KNOW? Dubai is Building a 93km “AC Highway” for Cyclists

You know how it is in August. You walk outside for 2 minutes and you’re already melting. But imagine if you could cycle from Downtown to the Marina in the middle of summer… without breaking a sweat.

It sounds like science fiction, but this is Dubai, so of course, it is becoming real.

Meet “THE LOOP”—the craziest infrastructure project we have ever seen.

1. The World’s Longest “Green Corridor” 🌿

This isn’t just a bike lane. It is a 93-kilometer climate-controlled highway that will wrap around the entire city.

2. The Floor Powers the Lights

This is the part that sounds like a movie. The floor of THE LOOP creates its own electricity.

3. The “20-Minute City” Vision ⏱️

Why build this? It is part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. The goal is to turn Dubai into a “20-minute city”—meaning over 80% of residents should be able to reach their daily needs (work, school, shops) within a 20-minute walk or bike ride.

4. More Than Just a Commute 🥗

It’s not just for getting to work. THE LOOP is designed to be a destination itself.

The LivDXB Verdict 🧐

While other cities are building more roads for cars, Dubai is trying to flip the script. If this gets built as planned, it could change the lifestyle here forever.

The Real Question: Would you actually cycle to work if you had AC the whole way, or are you sticking to your car no matter what?
